With CESpec It's Not A Crime!

The construction products directive 89/106/EEC created a criminal offence for supplying products which do not comply with CE regulations. For fittings intended for use on fire, smoke and escape doors, CE marking is the easiest way to satisfy the health and safety requirements for the building in which they are installed.

CCN have their own architectural hardware range; CESpec which provides full coordination and certification with the CEDor doorset from either the Stratum or Ensign ranges.

CESpec is a comprhensive CEN classified and CE marked range of hardware, door and access controls in aluminium, stainless steel or coloured nylon - fully developed to the demands of BS8214, BS8300 to the requirements of the DDA.

Brian Mason, Estimating Manager, says; "matching the hardware function to the door, is a serious matter. Adoorset tested with a latch is likely not to perform without it. We see too much 'cheating' with mismatched door to hardware coordination and it is frustrating. Some suppliers take a huge risk not only in the integrity of their supply but more over by compromising the fire plan of the building and the safety of the occupants and abusing the trust of their customers"

CCN's approach to hardware coordination is to agree the style and functional preferences with the Specifier/Client. CCN express the doorset application in hardware sets to fully meet the regulations and application of the door, within the CEDor Field of Application.
