No Need To Say "SHH" With SoundZONE At Newcastle City Library

CCN embraced the challenge and quickly established themselves as respected members of the design team. The scope was demanding, covering book matched American White-Oak doorsets and overpanels to the circulation areas, CEDor's high-finish paint-grade doorsets for the service and riser zones and some special laminate faced doors at level 5. They even designed and certified a sacrificial method of fixing glass panels to their fire doors.

The CEDor ranges were used for combination performance from heavy duty applications to FD120s FireZONE with smoke control and 42dBa SoundZONE doors. The glazed beading-system was flush throughout and the factory finished doorsets were of the highest quality.

The CESpec-Stratum range of Stainless Steel door furniture, security protection and door controls was used throughout, with very pleasing results. Careful attention to detail ensured the requirements for disabled access, light reflective value and ergonomics were all met.

CCN provided a full scheduling service, with detailed drawings to architect and client approval, along with vital coordination and interface details for the site teams. They provided technical advice at all stages, right up to the completion of the master keyed suiting.

The project was signed off with a detailed Operation and Maintenance Manual which provided full fire and acoustic certification for the entire scope of works, as well as the necessary Chain of Custody certification and client data, for on-going maintenance.
