FireZONE OptiGLAZE: Goes The Extra Mile

An important feature of the CEDor program is that all of the doors in the range are heavy or severe duty and the new fully glazed door is no exception.

OptiGLAZE is now available with 160mm stiles and rails 'all around' including the base rail stop.

This narrow stile and rail door was tested to EN 1634-1/DIN EN 146000. Whilst most manufacturers rely upon the basis provisions of DD171, CCN go the extra mile; many CEDor door sets are subject to a 250,000 cycle test 'BEFORE' a fire test is carried out. From this process of continuous development, CCN are able to push the boundaries of door set design, without compromise to longevity.

The OptiGLAZE door offers specifiers the option of expansive glazing for optimum light, safety and aesthetic symmetry with adjacent curtain-wall or other coordinating site lines.

Alan Clayton, CCN's Design Manager, says "The OptiGLAZE door was the response to the architect enquiries to seek a close match to the adjacent curtain wall or partition, in the timber door set. The challenge was to meet the demand without loss of structural integrity, in heavy duty application. We are sure this product will now be heavily specified. We are also enjoying good business from partition manufacturers"
